Date Day in London

On Sunday I had a 'date day' with my boyfriend Iain and I had an absolutely amazing day! We visited the London Aquarium, the Harry Potter exhibition at Harrods, Cafe Rouge in Kinghtsbridge for dinner , SNOG Covent Gaden for dessert and finally Ripley's believe it or not museum in London.

I wanted to look nice and like I had made an effort but I didn't want to appear 'over-done' so I opted for this loose fitting, lace embellished girly dress from Topshop. It's surprisingly warm and comfortable and it's not too short so it was the perfect dress - nothing is worse on a date or a long day-out than to wear a dress that you feel uncomfortable in whether you have to keep tugging it down as it's precariously short, or your feet start to hurt from your toweringly high heels - so that's why I tried to find a blend of comfort and style!

I dressed the outfit down even further with pink ballet flats and a brown leather jacket. The dress is so versatile that is can easily be dressed up for night time and as you can see from the photos it's casual enough a day strolling around London, smart enough for Harrods and appropriate for a romantic meal!
I wore my Lush hair extensions and opted for the same eyelash combination that I wore to BINTM Live (Two pairs of Eylure eye lashes. I placed Eylure's 110 on first and once they had dried I then placed the 'upper' lashes from the Eylure Naturalites upper and lower lash duo on top et voila - a double lash look that is suited for daytime ) but with minimal mascara on the bottom lashes.

I used Witch anti blemish primer as my heavy makeup for BINTM has done my skin no favours, paired with Lancome Teint Miracle shade number four and a tiny bit of Mac Studio Fix Fluid in NC35 to ensure a flawless look that also photographed well. I opted for Bourjois' chocolate bronzer and rose d'or blush all over. Lip gloss was kept girly and simple using YSL Rouge Pur Couture #38.

It seems that my love for all things TOWIE does not end with leopard print, fake tan and ridiculous lashes - it turns out that upon closer inspection of last weeks episode one of the new girls (not a fan and don't know their names!) decided to wear this exact same dress for her casual bowling date with 'Jirk' - she's teamed hers with a waist belt, a black leather jacket, opaque tights and black ankle boots. Personally I really like what she has done with the dress but she could have been wearing a bin bag and she'd still look better than the one in the pink gilet and leather trousers.

The day was so lovely, despite slicing my ankle open on the Harrods escalator and having to hobble over and sit in a corner, blood pouring down my foot into my shoe, whilst all the shoppers continuing their journeys up and down the escalators stared and pointed. The boy had to run downstairs to get the medic who then had to come and see to my 'laceration' and bandage (okay, plaster) me up, again as everyone watched. You can see the little plaster in the photo of us at dinner - it looked a hell of a lot worse than it was but my GOSH it didn't half hurt - definitely made the day a memorable one....!

I posted a little VLOG on my Youtube Channel so you can view below or click here to see lots more photos and some video footage from the day.

Hope this post was helpful and has given you some tips for date outfits, hair and makeup and also some ideas for things to do in London! Our next plan is to go to The London Dungeon's, to see the Harrods Christmas shop, Hyde Park's Winter Wonderland and to go ice skating - if you have any more date ideas do let me know or if you've ever gone on an amazing date tell me about it!
