Skincare Series | SkinCeuticals Antioxidant Facial at Paul Edmonds Knightsbridge

Two weeks ago I enjoyed one of the most pampering, indulgent, relaxing facials(*) I have ever experienced at the delightful Paul Edmonds Salon on Brompton Road, Knightsbridge. Almost six weeks into my new job and after deciding to embark on a fitness kick, the day of my facial saw me in the office at 8:45am, undertaking an hour of personal training in my lunch break followed immediately after by trialing the Bear Grylls Epic workout class, back in the office until just after 6, then running to be on time for my facial at 6:15. So when this bundle of stress, aching-all-over, rocked up ready for my facial I was delighted that my facialist Saynab knew instantly that I was 'very very tense!' and so made it her MISSION to relax me, as well as sort out my skin......

House Of Holland | Nailed by Elegant Touch Range

On Saturday night I popped over to the Fashion Monitor Style Lounge at The Mayfair Hotel and after grabbing a much needed glass of white wine and chatting to the lovely Fashion Monitor and Beauty Works girlies was suddenly drawn towards the nail table, as the various array of brightly coloured new House of Holland and Elegant Touch designs caught my eye and I ran over to investigate further. Having seen the hype surrounding these babies it was great fun to join the guests ooh-ing and aah-ing over the totally unique, bold patterns, and the endless amusement over the fact the 'face ache' nails set has googly eyes on the nails - which actually move - oh the novelty! I opted for the monochrome-with-a-textured-twist 'Polka-dot-it' and LOVE them! I have never received so many comments on my nails from total strangers - backstage at Eugene Lin even the models were commenting on them and one of the Toni&Guy style team asked if they could snap a picture they were so enamoured by my mani- felt like a bit of a celeb

Backstage at Eugene Lin LFW SS14

Today I went backstage with Toni and Guy and Label M at the Eugene Lin SS14 show. Richard Mannah led the Toni and Guy team and the concept for the hair was a sleek combination of wet and dry; to mirror the juxtaposing textures of the collection. Inspiration for the overall look was drawn from the fabled Valkyries of Norse mythology, the legend claims if you capture a Valykrie warrior whilst she is bathing in the river she will grant you a wish,so the models hair was slicked back away from the face into a half- ponytail using Label M Volume Mousse, coated with copious amounts of Label M Gel and sprayed sufficiently with Label M holding gloss through the top sections to create a glossy, shiny, wet look to create the illusion of emerging from the river. The makeup by The Body Shop was a natural finish, dewy base, contoured cheekbones, muted lips with heavy white shimmer in the inner corner of the eyes combined with a flash of pink and a sweep of mascara. My aim was to capture exactly what goes on backstage, so I really hope you get a feel of what goes into creating a Catwalk show - the extreme attention to detail, the last-minute finishing touches - five stylists attending to one model!! - just the sheer amount of effort required from everyone involved.

London Fashion Week SS14 | What I Wore

So today was my first day at LFW. My first stop of the day was heading backstage at Ashley Isham with Toni and Guy and Label M. It. was. AWESOME! I've never been backstage before and I absolutely adored seeing the whole process that goes into actually putting together a Catwalk show. It was such a thrill to be part of the buzz and the hubbub of backstage and I'm so grateful for Toni and Guy for letting me experience it! I'm off backstage with T&G again tomorrow for Eugene Lin and can't wait. This post is just a quick glimpse into what I opted to don for (my) day one (I know it's technically day two but my Friday was spent sat at my desk!) at London Fashion Week SS14....
