YSL Rouge Volupte Perle - 114 Sparkling Fuschia

It goes without saying that the gorgeous gold YSL packaging looks tasteful, elegant and expensive (and the lid can be used as a mirror for on-the-go touch ups) and I absolutely adore the addition of the coloured panel in the centre which is adorned with the YSL logo. It gives an amazingly accurate colour representation of the lipstick inside. I have found that the swatches or colour coding on the bottom of lipsticks or non the display units are never anything at all like the actual shade so this colour pop makes it incredibly eay to firstly locate the colour you are looking for and secondly to quickly see the real colour the lipstick. Perusing the YSL counter means no endless picking up one lipstick after the other, removing the lid and twisting up the lipstick  in order to see the actual colour! So that is a huge bonus for me plus it looks divine - so it's pretty and practical.

This is a super creamy and nourishing  feeling lipstick is enveloped which does not leave lips feeling or looking dry. It smells like watermelon and so it feels like putting on a lip balm but it has all the pigment of a lipstick so you're left with a really strong colour after one application. It claims to leave lips looking smoother and radiant which it does but I have not found any 'plumping' effect from this lipstick. It also contains spf 15 which I know is important to a lot of you.

YSL lipsticks retail at £23 so they're a high end product but I think they are good value for money and so I  have a few amongst my collection. This colour [114 - Sparkling Fuschia] is a limited edition addition to the spring 2012 collection and you can probably still purchase in-store, online retailers seem to only stock the core collection.

I teamed this super bright lipstick with an equally bright pink jumper from H&M. It's really comfortable and I like the length of it (it comes to just below your hips) and is £14.99 and still in-stock.
Not a very exciting outfit but somewtimes it's just nice to be casual and comfy.
