Working nine to five....

It's been a while. How come? Well I've only gone and got myself a bloody amazing new job as a Social Media Community Manager based in Chelsea AND I'm in the process of moving up there! I could not possibly be more excited and happy at the moment. I started on Monday and I am absolutely loving it. The opportunity literally arose out of the blue and it's exactly what I want to be doing and the Clients I am working with are phenomenal. Never, ever, EVER give up on finding your dream job. I'm 25 soon(ish) and graduated three years ago and I've only just figured out what it is I should be doing....

Don't worry if you don't have it all figured out. I've spent three years in a state of constant confusion, befuddlement and woe as I desperately tried to find my niche, my dream job, my career. I've uuhm'd and ahh'd, back and fro'd and gone round in circles so many times I lost track.

'Don’t feel guilty if you don’t know what you want to do with your life…the most interesting people I know didn’t know at 22 what they wanted to do with their lives, some of the most interesting 40 year olds I know still don’t.'

Don't lose hope after the hours and hours of applications results in a seemingly endless stream of rejection letters and emails (or more likely, complete radio silence). Don't allow other people to dictate to you what you should be doing. Do not compare yourself to other people. It. Doesn't. Matter. That is easier said than done as I saw most of my friends glide seamlessly from University to top City jobs but 'comparison is the thief of joy'. Don't let it get you down. You will figure it out eventually. Everything you've been doing and are doing now is getting you one step closer. To all you fellow Bloggers - keep at it, it's a great skill to have and can only benefit you. Use it on your CV. Go for every opportunity available to you. There will be twists and turns and ups and downs along the way but, eventually, you will realise what it is that makes you happy and that, my lovely readers, is half the battle. (I know it's been a week but I have truly never been happier and felt more 'right' in a job before).

'Find a Job You Love and You’ll Never Work a Day in Your Life'

Dorothy:  'Oh, will you help me? Can you help me?'
Glinda, the Good Witch:  'You don’t need to be helped any longer. You’ve always had the power to go back to Kansas.'
Dorothy:  'I have?'
Scarecrow: 'Then why didn’t you tell her before?'
Glinda, the Good Witch:

'Because she wouldn’t have believed me.
She had to learn it for herself.'
